- John Newton, CTO, Alfresco
John Newton, Co-Founder, CTO and Chairman, has had one of the longest and most influential careers in content management. In 1990, John co-founded, designed and led the development of Documentum®, the leader in content management recently acquired by EMC®.
For the next ten years, he invented many of the concepts widely used in the Enterprise Content Management (ECM) industry today.
John was one of the founding engineers at Ingres® where he helped develop the world's first commercial relational database. John graduated with a BS in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of California at Berkeley.
- Luis Sala, Chief Community Officer, Alfresco
Luis Sala is Alfresco's Chief Community Officer. In this capacity he works with and educates the Alfresco community to the capabilities and benefits of Alfresco's technology. Luis has been at Alfresco since 2006 and was responsible for establishing Alfresco's US-based technical account management team.
Luis holds a degree in Computer Science and a minor in Theater from Allegheny College in Meadville, PA. Luis is a regular speaker at open source and content management events and is an enthusiastic blogger in both English and Spanish.
