Home Theater Geeks 33: One Reviewer's Opinion
Guests
- Fred Manteghian, contributing editor for Home Theater Magazine
Fred Manteghian is an IT professional and amateur musician living in Connecticut who also has had a long-held passion for music and movies. In the early 1990s, Fred began reviewing for the Audio Adventure, a new publication created by Tom Miller, a senior writer for The Absolute Sound. While the Audio Adventure was clearly geared toward the two-channel crowd, Fred took on the role of Cinema Sound editor. Larry Archibald of Stereophile took notice of Fred’s writing and, when the Audio Adventure closed shop, invited him to write for Stereophile’s sister publication, Stereophile Guide to Home Theater, which later became Ultimate AV. Fred has been with the Stereophile family for over a decade, most recently writing equipment reviews for Home Theater magazine. While Fred is primarily known for his coverage of home-theater speakers and AVRs, his reference system includes a state of the art plasma and LCoS video projector.
