"My husband and I are traveling to Japan in a couple of months. We both have iPad 2's/3G/AT&T and want to use it while we're there. I've been trying to research the best way to get both wi-fi and 3G service while there. My last choice is buying an International data plan with AT&T because it's so expensive.

I've read about iphonetrip.com where you can rent international SIMs for a pretty reasonable price but how can I be absolutely sure it'll work when I get to Japan. I'd hate to get it and then find out for whatever reason that it doesn't work. I've also read about using Apple's Airport Express. Since most, if not, all the hotels in Japan have only wired Internet in the hotel rooms, I was thinking about this option. Would this work? This would be good while in the hotel room, but then I won't have connection when I'm out and about. Help!
