  1. Commercial Pilot Airplane, Multi-Engine, Land and Sea. Glider, Hot Air Balloon, Flight Instructor, Aerobatic Flight Instructor. I have flown a glider aerobatic routine in both the U.S. and Canada.

  3. TAS…Corrected for altitude and temperture.
  4. As you climb and hold IAS the TAS goes up.
  • V-Speeds
  1. Vmo Maximum operating speed.
  2. Discuss how pitot tube fault could lead to exceeding this speed.
  3. Vmmo Mach buffet speed.
  4. Va Maneuvering speed.
  5. Discuss how this might take the vertical fin off the airplane.
  6. Vb maximum gust intensity…Maximum structural cruising speed.
  • Takeoff V speeds.
  1. Pilot Not Flying voice calls during takeoff.
  2. V1…Committed to fly…If one engine quits you will continue. Before this you can stop in the length of the runway left.
  3. Vr…Rotate…Lift the nose 10 to 11 degrees.
  4. V2…TO safety speed…you can reach 35 ft. by the end of the runway.
  • No talking while below 10,000 ft.
  • Certification bottle necks.
  • Fedex Trucks use digital communications. Aircraft use voice.
