Adding Tutorial On How To Edit Show Notes

Hi Imperator3733: Could you please link this page from the wiki home page for me? http://wiki.twit.tv/wiki/How_To_Help_With_Show_Notes Thanks Danegolden 22:28, 17 May 2009 (PDT)

Roz Rows Show Notes Template

Hi Imperator3733: Could you please create a Roz Rows Show Notes Template? Thanks very much! Danegolden 20:31, 19 May 2009 (PDT)

Dr. Kiki Section and Show Notes Template

Hi Imperator3733: Could you please create a Dr. Kiki Section and Show Notes Template? Thanks very much! Danegolden 00:21, 30 May 2009 (PDT)

LinkedIn group in the Community section

Hi Imperator3733: Could you please add TWiT Army LinkedIn.com group to the Community section of the main site? The url is: http://www.linkedin.com/groups?gid=1773887. Dick DeBartolo has already joined but we only have 12 members in total. Maybe putting the link on the main site would help popularize it a little and help TWiTs network professionally. Thanks! Mmike 00:21, 02 June 2009 (PDT)

I think some sort of section or page linking to all the TWiT-themed areas of social network sites would be nice: Facebook, LinkedIn (although I actually don't use it myself), @twitupdates and @twitlive or other feeds on twitter, and whatever else gains traction. Danegolden 10:28, 4 June 2009 (PDT)

Staff pages

Hi Imperator3733: Do you think it would be appropriate to have the staff each have their own pages? Danegolden 23:16, 2 June 2009 (PDT)

Hi Imperator3733: I wanted to circle back and consider this idea again. I think the staff would enjoy having their own pages on the wiki, and it's easier to link to for a number of purposes. Thanks! Danegolden 07:58, 26 September 2009 (PDT)

FLOSS Weekly hosts

Hi Imperator3733: Could we create an option on FLOSS Weekly show notes pages to include occasional hosts like Jono Bacon? http://wiki.twit.tv/wiki/FLOSS_Weekly_72 Danegolden 08:46, 5 June 2009 (PDT)

Any more thoughts on this?Danegolden 16:17, 18 June 2009 (PDT)

FriendFeed Conversations

Do you think that each show note template should include a place for links to each episode's particular FriendFeed conversation? Danegolden 14:48, 11 June 2009 (PDT)

Host Pages

How to Watch and Listen to TWiT?

Why do you keep deleting the link for That Week In of the How to Watch and Listen to TWiT page. It is a site that offers ways to watch TWiT. This means that it is a proper link for the page. Please do not even go there with the ODTV being the only place you should be able to watch TWiT videos. I am a fan site and have TWiT videos. I belong on the page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Thatweekin (talkcontribs) 19:05, 1 July 2009

First of all, I have not been frequently deleting the link like you imply. Another administrator had protected the page but there was a slight problem with the protection. As a result, I fixed the protection that that other administrator had decided to implement. If you want a discussion on whether to include your link, please post on either the bulletin board or the talk page. Also, please remember to sign your talk page posts with four tildes (~~~~). -- Imperator3733 (talk | contribs | sysop | Logs: bdpr) 21:45, 1 July 2009 (PDT)

This Week in Google

Hi Imperator3733: We're starting "This Week in Google" today. Could we have a show page and a basic episode template? The main host will be Leo, Gina Trapani and Jeff Jarvis, but there will also be rotating guests and hosts. Thanks Danegolden 11:23, 1 August 2009 (PDT)

Main Discussion Page

Could we unprotect the Talk:Main Page? It has been locked since April 19. I would like to ask on that page about changing some of the formatting of show titles on the Main_Page - This WEEK in GOOGLE bugs the crap outta me. How about "This Week in Google"? Ajpresto 10:11, 6 August 2009 (PDT)

Searching for Volunteer Show Note takers

Hi Imperator3733: I'd like to have a section on the main page for each individual show about show note takers, and possibly a link to How To Help With Show Notes. I'd like to either have a place to recognize volunteer show note takers, or say that it is open for volunteers. What do you think? Danegolden 17:31, 8 August 2009 (PDT)

Sharp65 does Windows Weekly show notes, and James DeRuvo does show notes on TechGuyLabs.com, but he doesn't post those to wiki. Me or you sometimes take notes for TWiT, and I sometimes take them for TWiG, but we're seeking help there because I really don't have time but I want people to have good notes. Danegolden 09:22, 9 August 2009 (PDT)

Just to add in here. Leo is happy for me to take TWiG Show Notes, so from now, I will be taking the TWiG show notes. --Technical08 03:43, 23 August 2009 (PDT)

RE: Rollback

Sure thing, I was mistakenly under the impression that rolling back only undid the most recent change to the page. sharp65 16:14, 11 August 2009 (PDT)

Updated & New Templates

Hi Imperator3733: Could you please make sure we have a template for every show? That would make my job as audio editor a lot easier. Thanks! Erik 15:42, 14 August 2009 (PDT)

I'm referring to when you create a new page of show notes (for a new episode) and are presented with a list of templates that say things like, "New This Week in Law." I'm mostly concerned about This Week in Law and This Week in Fun, because they are now shows that I edit, and they have no show notes template. Thanks! Erik 16:49, 14 August 2009 (PDT)

Thanks for the new TWiF and TWiL preloads! You're right about Tech Guy and TWiT Fit not needing preloads for the time being. Erik 13:19, 17 August 2009 (PDT)

Hi Imperator3733 - The TWiF and TWiL preloads seem to have disappeared. Could you restore them please? Thanks! 13:16, 12 September 2009 (PDT)

Infobox stuff

Hi Imperator3733: on MBW and TWiL show notes pages I'm unable to enter more than one hosts in the infobox

On TWiT show notes pages guests should now be listed as hosts by default there will occasionally but rarely be guests who are not hosts Frédérique 12:19, 24 September 2009 (PDT)

Host, Panelists or Guests

For the purposes of the wiki, almost all people appearing on a panel show (such as TWiT, MBW, TWiG, TWiL) would be considered a host. If there's a noted participant who's a non-journalist/non-regular, such as on TWiT when we had Wolfram or Wozniak or when Frank @comcastcares was on, they're actually a guest. On FLOSS Weekly, Randal, Jono and Leo are hosts, the rests are guests. On net@night, Amber, Sarah and Leo are hosts, the rest are guests. On Windows Weekly, when the guys in charge of the Zune or the MS Office ribbon were on, they are guests. Recently, when Alex Lindsay substituted for Leo on Windows Weekly, Alex was a host. We generally don't use the word panelist. Danegolden 10:01, 26 September 2009 (PDT)

Production Information

Going forward, could we change templates so that the "Production Information" just includes "Edited by" and "Notes"? Thanks! Danegolden 10:10, 26 September 2009 (PDT)

127.0.0.1

Sorry, I don't have any suggestions on this. IP spoofing? Danegolden 14:36, 5 October 2009 (PDT)

Rename "How to Be a Guest on TWiT.tv"

Could you please rename "How to Be a Guest on TWiT.tv" to be "How to Be a Guest on the TWiT network"? Thanks! Danegolden 18:32, 29 October 2009 (PDT)

How to Watch and Listen to TWiT

Hi Imperator3733, I notice on How to Watch and Listen to TWiT page that there are no links/references to the TWiT/MediaFly apps on Android and the Palm Pre. I can't add them since the page is protected. Thanks Technical08 --Technical08 10:27, 21 November 2009 (PST)

Thanks! --Technical08 12:29, 21 November 2009 (PST)
Should I re-protect How to Watch and Listen to TWiT? --Technical08 10:29, 23 November 2009 (PST)
Also, could we add to this page that Windows Marketplace for Mobile store has a Skyfire browser for Windows Mobile where people can watch BitGravity live stream? Thank you! Danegolden 08:31, 25 November 2009 (PST)

Protection

Just to let you know that all the protection edits for Talk:Patrick Beja, I messed them up a bit since I protected first then deleted which then removed the protection. All is now well. Thanks --Technical08 11:29, 26 November 2009 (PST)
