TWiT Live@CES page

Hi Imperator3733: We're starting a new iTunes feed for TWiT Live@CES, with hosts Leo and Dr. Kiki, but many participants. It will be a bit unusual. URL will be http://twit.tv/ces, http://twitlive.posterous.com. Could you please create a page and a shownotes template? Thanks Danegolden 11:47, 27 December 2009 (PST)

Hi Imperator3733: Could you change the title of the show from "TWiT @CES" to "TWiT Live @CES". Thanks! Danegolden 06:36, 6 January 2010 (PST)
Sorry to be a nitpicker, but there's a space between Live and @, but none between @ and CES. So it's "TWiT Live @CES". Thanks! Danegolden 21:08, 6 January 2010 (PST)

TWiG Template "Wish List"

Hi Imperator3733 - the "Wish List" for Google was part of the show for episodes 3, 4 and 5 - hasn't been mentioned since. Do you think we should delete that section from the TWiG template? - thanks - john

Jammerb 11:27, 8 February 2010 (PST)

Thanks for bringing that up. I just removed the section. --Imperator3733 (talk | contribs | sysop | Logs: bdpr) 12:48, 9 February 2010 (PST)

Vandalism attack

There was a vandalism attack overnight and it is still ongoing as of 10:25am PDT. The vandalism is nonstop and we have done the best we can to stop it. See Recent Changes Geoffsan 10:23, 7 April 2010 (PDT)

Another Vandalism attack

Another vandalism attack is happening as of 7:07am PDT, second one in a week. Geoffsan 07:07, 15 April 2010 (PDT)

Possible spam issue

I discovered that new user accounts (like this one) are adding spam links into articles. Although IP's are currently blocked from editing all pages, it appears that when user accounts are created, they are autoconfirmed automatically when they really should not have that permission immediately when they create an account, refer to Special:ListGroupRights. This is wikipedia's policy regarding Autoconfirmed users. Geoffsan 13:12, 26 April 2010 (PDT)

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I just promoted you to administrator based on your really good work combating spam. I only have access to the things on the wiki, not the actual server, so I'll need to get in contact with Bear to get server settings changed. The MediaWiki user rights page says that two parameters ($wgAutoConfirmAge and $wgAutoConfirmCount) are responsible for determining when an account becomes autoconfirmed. It looks like these are still both set to their default value of 0. We should decide what a good threshold would be for a user to become autoconfirmed. I'm not sure what the best way would be to have this discussion. -- Imperator3733 (talk | contribs | sysop | Logs: bdpr) 13:50, 26 April 2010 (PDT)
Thank you very much. Geoffsan 13:52, 26 April 2010 (PDT)
Bear has updated LocalSettings.php to have $wgAutoConfirmCount be 10 and $wgAutoConfirmAge be 7. (I was intending for that to be 7 days but it just occurred to me that it actually means 7 seconds - I'll get him to fix that). Do you think those are good values? -- Imperator3733 (talk | contribs | sysop | Logs: bdpr) 18:19, 27 April 2010 (PDT)
I think it's good, 10 edits and 7 days is good enough. Geoffsan 21:06, 27 April 2010 (PDT)

Spambot attack

There's been an attack by spambots this morning, see Special:RecentChanges. They just keep coming despite blocks. Not sure if a long term solution can be sought to stop this in the future. Geoffsan 08:17, 29 April 2010 (PDT)

I just asked Bear to install the ReCAPTCHA extension as well as User Merge and Delete to take care of the left over vandal accounts. -- Imperator3733 (talk | contribs | sysop | Logs: bdpr) 10:14, 29 April 2010 (PDT)

TNT Show Coverart

Could we get someone to upload TNT coverart? I tried but realized that I don't have the option to do that. Thanks! Stevencrader 19:39, 4 June 2010 (PDT)

There seems to be an error with the server's upload directory not being writable, but as soon as that is taken care of the coverart will be uploaded. Thanks for bringing this to my attention. -- Imperator3733 (talk | contribs | sysop | Logs: bdpr) 09:59, 5 June 2010 (PDT)

Template for Current Geek Weekly

We're setting up a Current Geek Weekly page at twit.tv/cgw. We'd also like to start making wiki pages for each episode. Can you get us started with that? Let me know what info you need. Thanks! Jammerb 11:33, 27 August 2010 (PDT)

Done. You just need to upload the album art now, preferably to Image:Cgw600.jpg. -- Imperator3733 (talk | contribs | sysop | Logs: bdpr) 11:41, 27 August 2010 (PDT)

Template for FourCast

We've set up twit.tv/fc for FourCast. Please set up a wiki page template for it too - thanks! Jammerb 13:14, 8 September 2010 (PDT)

Done. It just needs the album art. -- Imperator3733 (talk | contribs | sysop | Logs: bdpr) 19:49, 8 September 2010 (PDT)

Template for Ham Nation

Ham Nation starts today; Bob Heil is the host - please set up a template - thanks! Jammerb 08:26, 24 May 2011 (PDT)

All set. You just need to upload the album art to Image:Hn600.jpg. I'm assuming the show's URL will be http://twit.tv/hn. -- Imperator3733 (talk | contribs | sysop | Logs: bdpr) 08:51, 24 May 2011 (PDT)

Changing Next episode links

Hi Imperator3733, would you know how to modify the template/page for The Social Hour so it correctly links to the next episode? If you look here http://wiki.twit.tv/wiki/The_Social_Hour_1 you can see the next episode link is going to "Social Hour 2" when it should be linking to "The Social Hour 2". Thanks for the help. sharp65 17:52, 26 May 2011 (PDT)

Done. -- Imperator3733 (talk | contribs | sysop | Logs: bdpr) 20:30, 26 May 2011 (PDT)

OMGchad user account

Hi Imperator3733 - we were trying to set up a user page for OMGchad and discovered that that user is "blacklisted". Can you clear that up? thanks Jammerb 14:25, 9 June 2011 (PDT) Sorry, not a user page - he was trying to set up a wiki user account whne he found OMGchad blacklisted. Jammerb 15:03, 9 June 2011 (PDT)

Try it now. It seems that it was being prevented by the .*mg.* rule in the title blacklist. I added .*OMGchad.* to the corresponding title whitelist, so hopefully that solves the problem. -- Imperator3733 (talk | contribs | sysop | Logs: bdpr) 21:33, 10 June 2011 (PDT)
