• Nathan - Random Netflix Movie - Exam - This was picked last week, whoops!

Just watched first 2 episodes of Hawaii five 0 and although formulaic in the same way as say NCIS los Angeles found it very well made and extremely entertaining.

Having noted that the lead character is an Australian actor it made me realise how many foreigners play Americans these days from Dominic West and Idris Elba in the Wire, Hugh Laurie in House, Hugh Jackman (or Huge Action as my wife calls him) Jamie Bamber in Battlestar Galactica, Joseph Fiennes in FlashForward, and not forgetting Damian Lewis in Band of Brothers (possibly the best mini series ever made) I could go on.

My question is do all these actors voices sound natural to you or do you immediately spot them as false.

There are very good examples of Americans doing English accents, Robert Downey Jr as Sherlock Holmes and Renee Zellweger in Bridget Jones comes to mind but there have been some spectacular failures.

The daddy of all time being Dick Van Dyke in Mary Poppins who got it so wrong it was right if you know what I mean.

How many foreign Dick Van Dykes can you currently spot working in American television.

Just wanted to send you a quick email to tell you how much i am loving framerate. Even from the other side of the world here in Australia. I just wanted to recommend a show to you both that has just started on Current TV. I heard about it on the net and then checked out a bunch of you tube clips that current tv posted on youtube. While i havnt even had the chance to watch the first episode yet. I think just from these clips i have to recommend this show to you both. The show is created by Will Wright who im sure you both would know from The Sims and Spore. The other biggest part of the show is the community that helps through the story creation studio on their site to create new storys and have input in to the show. Also their is a great chance to interview Will on framerate because im sure it would be a great chat you guys would have.. To give you a idea think of it as part quantum leap, the twilight zone, the outer limits. Anyway enough of my rambling please check it out i think it may be something great for the Net generation tv show watches. Bye for now
