APP STORE FEATURE
"Dear Leo and Sarah, The charging issue for Ipad's vs Ipods and other USB devices is the Amps the USB port puts out and not the voltage. The voltage is pretty standard, but what is different is the Amps or amount of electricity the port can deliver. The Ipad has a large battery and the .5 amps the standard USB port puts out is not enough to put much of a noticeable charge on an Ipad. The newer Mac books and Mac book pros have special USB ports that carry closer to 2 amps and can charge an Ipad. Using a powered USB hub will not guarantee it can charge an Ipad. It will likely only deliver the standard .5 amps. Lastly, the issue is not USB 2.0 as that is a protocol and has little to do with the amps the port delivers.
