MacBreak Weekly is a weekly show hosted by Leo Laporte that premiered on August 12th, 2006 as an audio spinoff of MacBreak, a PixelCorps production that focuses on discussion of Apple news, products and rumors.

After the main discussions, each panelist will recommend their "Pick of the Week", which usually encompasses various Apple-related products.

The show currently airs live on Tuesdays at 11:00am PT/2:00pm ET, or live during special events (live Apple keynotes) with the on demand download available within 24hrs.

Regular panelists

  • Product recommendations are described in a currency called an Alex, one Alex being roughly equivalent to $700 U.S. dollars, the cost of Adobe Photoshop at the time of the currency's inception. It was so named because Alex Lindsay frequently mentions items that cost a large amount of money.
  • The entire regular cast has their own jingles, provided by Geoff Smith.
  • If going 'down the rat-hole' is ever mentioned it means that the show has gone off topic.
